Sophomore outside hitter Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Third Team for his efforts during the 2013 season.
Johnson finished the season hitting .209 with 3.83 kills per set in 22 matches played. He led the team in the kills per set category as well. He registered 0.34 blocks per set and 0.36 service aces per set.
He tallied a career-high 27 kills in 61 attempts against Mount Ida on April 4, while at Yeshiva on Feb. 25, he hit a stellar .625 with 12 kills in 16 tries along with just two hitting errors.
With the Third Team honors, he becomes just the third player in Albertus Magnus men's volleyball history to receive conference recognition.
Johnson finished the season ranked second in the GNAC with 3.83 kills per set. He was ranked third with his 0.36 service aces per set tally and was ranked fifth in the league with 2.24 digs per set.
He finished the year with 291 kills, 27 service aces and 170 digs.
Freshman Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.) was named to the GNAC Sportsmanship Team as well.
