Hamasian Named Assistant Athletic Director/Fiscal Affairs

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski has announced that Pete Hamasian will now serve as Assistant Athletic Director/Fiscal Affairs after previously holding the role of department budget administrator. Hamasian will also remain as the Falcons' head men's soccer coach.

"Pete is well-deserving of this new opportunity after his many contributions to the department over the last several years," Kobylanski said. "I am excited to continue to work collaboratively with Pete on our overall fiscal operations, and am confident that he will thrive in this enhanced role. In addition, I commend Pete and his staff for their work with our men's soccer student-athletes, who continue to achieve great things academically, athletically and within the community."

A 2010 graduate of Albertus Magnus and former member of the men's soccer team, Hamasian will be entering his fourth full season as the team's head coach.

During his time as head coach, Hamasian has amassed a 28-14-10 record, including appearances in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament in each of his first three seasons and was named the GNAC Coach of the Year in 2021.

In 2023, Hamasian and the Falcons set a program record, starting the season unbeaten over their first seven games before finishing with a 10-3-5 record and a fourth-place finish in the GNAC. Three members of the team, including Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, Conn.), David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) and Declan Ryan (Hamden, Conn.) all made All-GNAC teams while Kris Bocchio made the All-Rookie team. Ryan, EJ Gonzalez (Cheshire, Conn.) and Roger Baldwin (New Haven, Conn.) were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

In the classroom, 10 of Hamasian's players were named to the GNAC All-Academic Team as the team averaged over a 3.2 grade point average for the 2023-24 academic year.
