NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College athletic department has announced that it will partner with the Dr. Ronell Blizzard Foundation at its home basketball contests during the month of February.
In lieu of a ticket purchase, fans attending the Feb. 7 games against Rivier, the Feb. 14 games against Lasell and the Feb. 17 games against Dean are asked to bring a pair of new or gently-used kids sneakers to support the Foundation. The mission of the organization is to connect kids in need with the sneakers that they deserve.
Shoe donations can also be dropped off at the Athletic Director's Office at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center at any point in the month as well.
The Dr. Ronell Blizzard Foundation was founded by former Albertus Magnus College men's basketball student-athlete and graduate Sharod Blizzard '10 to honor the life and legacy of his brother Dr. Ronell Blizzard - a basketball player, scholar and community role model.
