NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Jack DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team and Ava Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) of the women's basketball team were both named Falcon of the Week for their performances this past week.
DeMoura scored his first career goal as the Falcons scored six unanswered goals and rallied from a four-goal deficit to defeat Manhattanville 6-4 on Friday night. The first-year, defensemen posted a +2 plus/minus for the game and is currently tied with teammate, Sam Witt, for a team-best +9 on the season.
Johnson scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in a tough road loss to Saint Joseph's (Me.) on Saturday. She then, posted a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and added five steals in a win over in-state rival, Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Tuesday. The sophomore, forward is averaging 8.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Falcons this season.
