Men's Golf Sets Program Record After First Round Of ECSU Fall Invitational

BALTIC, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team set a new program record, shooting a +14 over par 294 in the first round of the Eastern Connecticut State University Fall Invitational on Monday at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club.

The Falcons sit in second place, seven strokes behind first-place Southern Maine University (287). Nichols College is two strokes behind Albertus to round out the top three.

Nick Piselli (Milford, Conn.) led the way for the Falcons, shooting a one-over par 71 and is tied for third place.

Pierson Hester (Nashville, Tenn.), the reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week shot a 73 and is tied for seventh. Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) is a shot behind Hester and is tied for 11th. Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) shot a 76 and Andrew Buckholz (New Haven, Conn.), an 80.

The Falcons bested their previous program record by seven strokes, as they shot a 301 in 2023 at the Mitchell College Invitational.

Cam Desante of Nichols College is the individual leader after the first round, shooting a three-under par 67.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday.
