BALTIC, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team shot a +29 309 on Tuesday in the second and final round of the Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational at the par 70 Mohegan Sun Golf Club en route to a fourth-place finish.
Overall the Falcons finished with a +43 603 for the 36-hole tournament. Southern Maine University won the event with a +23 (583), followed by Roger Williams College at +35 (595) and Nichols College at +36 (584) to round out the top three.
The two-day total for the Falcons also broke a school record.
Nick Piselli (Milford, Conn.) was the top finisher for the Falcons, finishing tied for seventh place after shooting 71-76 over the tournament. Pierson Hester (Nashville, Tenn.) finished tied for 13th place after shooting a 79 in round two for a two-day score of +12 (152).
Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished in 16th place, two strokes behind Hester after a second round of 78. Andrew Buckholz (New Haven, Conn.) and Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) shot a 76 and 82, respectively and tied for 19th at +16 (156).
Cam Desante of Nichols College was the individual medalist, finishing 3-under after rounds of 67 and 70.
The Falcons return to action on Wednesday as they host Mount Saint Mary's College (N.Y.) at noon at New Haven Country Club.
