NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team defeated Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in a dual match at New Haven Country Club on Thursday.
The Falcons finished with a 51-over par 331 while the Monks shot a 60-over par 340.
Pierson Hester (Nashville, TN) and Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn._ each shot a 12-over par 82 for the Falcons, tying them for second overall. Hester had an eagle on the par 5 10th hole. Sikorski had one birdie on the day.
Mason Sassu (Rocky Hill, Conn.) finished a shot back of his two teammates with an 83, including a birdie on the 17th hole.
Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) shot a 14-over par 84 with a birdie on 10, while Dylan Florio (Durham, Conn.) shot an 85 with seven pars.
Kyle Bowlan of SJC was the individual medalist with an 11-over par 81.
Up next, the Falcons will play in the Mitchell Invitational III at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, Conn. on October 1st.
