WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team finished in sixth place at the University of Hartford/Wampanoag Men's Spring Invitational at the par 72 Wampanoag Country Club on Monday.
The Falcons finished with a 32-over par 320 during the day. The University of Hartford won the nine team event with a 4-over par 292, followed by Salem State University with a 24-over par 312, while Rhode Island College finished in third with a 314 to round out the top three.
Pierson Hester (Nashville, Tenn.) was the top finisher for the Falcons, placing in sixth place with a two-over par 74. He had three birdies on the front nine, including one on the first, second and sixth holes.
Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished in 18th with a seven-over par 79. He had four birdies on the day with two on both the front and back nine. He birdied holes one, six, 11 and 17.
Mason Sassu (Rocky Hill, Conn.) shot an 83 (+11) with a birdie on the seventh hole with seven pars. Robert Weiss (Utrecht, Netherlands) finished a shot behind Sassu with an 84 with two birdies on the fourth and seventh holes.
Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) shot an 87 (+15) with birdies on the fourth and 12th holes.
Jasper Bruins Slot of Rhode Island College and Patrick Cotter were co-medalists after shooting a one-under par 71.
