MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey twice fought back from a one-goal deficit to defeat Wesleyan University, 5-3 on Saturday evening in a non-conference game.
Maksim Tsegelnik (Moscow, Russia) led the charge with two third period goals. Justin Sullivan (Laval, Quebec) had a goal and an assist and Zane Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) and Charles Lavoie (Chicoutimi, Quebec) each added a goal.
Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) stopped 29 shots on the day for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took less than four minutes to get the scoring started as the Sullivan took a pass from Aleksy Bandu (Notre-Dame-de-L'lle-Perrot, Quebec) just before center ice and raced down along the boards, cut towards the net and backhanded a shot in past Wesleyan goaltender, Ethan Fehrenbaker to make it a 1-0 game at 3:19 of the first period.
- Wesleyan scored twice in just over a three-minute span later on in the first period. The first coming from Owen Mahar who stuffed in a rebound in front of the net at the 6:08 mark. At the 9:21 mark, Dylan Margel gave the Cardinals the lead, scoring on a 2-on-1 break after receiving a pass from Connor Sutherland.
- Albertus tied the game at the 13:40 mark as the Kindrachuk brothers assisted one another for a goal. A shot by Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) was stopped by Fehrenbaker, but Zane Kindrachuk was able to get the rebound and score his team-leading seventh goal of the season just in front of the net to make it a 2-2 game.
- The second period was scoreless as Hale stopped 11 shots and Fehrenbaker, 10.
- The scoring picked up again immediately in the third period as Wesleyan took its second lead of the game just 41 seconds in as Andrew Haxton scored after being fed a backhanded centering pass from Ethan Davidson.
- Tsegelnik then took over the game, scoring the next two goals. The first coming at the 5:43 mark as he took a pass in the slot from Sullivan and fired a shot past Fehrenbaker to tie the game, 3-3 at the 5:43 mark. At the 9:09 mark, Tsegelnik took a shot from just after the blue line over the glove side of Fehrenbaker, giving Albertus the lead for good at 4-3.
- Lavoie added an empty net goal for the final tally with just 57 seconds remaining.
