Winthrop, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish eighth in the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll. The poll, which was released on Wednesday afternoon, is voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
The Falcons, who are coming a 3-11 campaign last spring, earned 19 points to finish ahead of ninth-place Anna Maria and six points back of seventh-place Saint Joseph's Maine. Emmanuel sits atop the poll after receiving seven of a possible 10 first-place votes for 78 points.
Johnson & Wales received one first-place vote to land in a second-place tie with Lasell, while Mount Ida finished fourth in the poll with 58 points, followed by Norwich in the fifth spot with 54 points and one first-place vote.
Rounding out the poll was Rivier with 35 points, the Monks with 25 points, the Falcons and Anna Maria with 12 points.
Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region.
