NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Alexis Gonzalez (Edison, N.J.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for his performance in the team's 8-5 season-opening win on Wednesday against Anna Maria College. Teammate Cooper Strecker (Chester, Conn.) was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Gonzalez, in his first collegiate start as goalkeeper, stopped 12 of the 17 shots he faced in the win including four of the five shots he faced in the fourth quarter.

Strecker had six points in the win, including two goals, four assists while picking up four ground balls.
