Men's Lacrosse Powers Past Colby-Sawyer On Senior Day

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team defeated the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College 27-4 on Saturday Afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

Nicholas Longo (Ridge, N.Y.) had seven goals and two assists on the day, Marcus Burrows (West Haven, Conn.) had five goals and four assists, and DaKari Coleman (Norwalk, Conn.) added four goals and four assists, as well as 17 ground balls.

Coleman, Sean Keenan (Franklin Square, N.Y.), Cooper Strecker (Chester, Conn.), Jahsai Martin-Fish (Stamford, Conn.), Derrick Mejia (Bridgeport, Conn.), and Alec Kovalsky (Orange, Conn.) were all honored for senior day prior to the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons got on the board just 42 seconds into the game as Alex Morales (Wallingford, Conn.) scored his first goal of the game. The Falcons pushed for eight more goals in the first quarter, including three from Burrows, two from Longo, one from Coleman. Hayden Grigas (Milford, Conn.) also added his first of three goals on the day. 
  • James Masterson added one to start the second quarter for CSC, but the Falcons added six more goals throughout the quarter, including two more from Loongo and one each from Keenan, Morales, Coleman and Grigas. Masterson added one more to finish the second quarter with a score of 15-2. 
  • The Falcons added six more goals in the third, including three from Longo, as well as Robert Delbuono (Shelton, Conn.) who added one to the board for Albertus. The Chargers added a goal from Evan Thomas
  • The Falcons added six more goals in the third quarter, including the first goal of the season for both Kovalsky and Mejia. The Chargers added one more from Thomas.
