NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Former Albertus Magnus College two-sport student-athlete Shane Bryan '99 has been named as the head women's and men's tennis coach, as announced today by Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski.
Bryan was a member of the Falcons' men's tennis and men's soccer teams during his time as an undergraduate. He was a part of the 1996 men's soccer team that was inducted into the Albertus Magnus College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
"I am excited to welcome Shane back to Albertus as our next head women's and men's tennis coach," Kobylanski said. "He brings a practical and tangible experience of what it means to be a student-athlete at Albertus. Through a combination of his athletic and life experiences, I am confident that he will be a great resource for our student-athletes as we look to continue to build strong momentum across both tennis teams."
While an undergraduate at Albertus, Waite suited up for two legendary coaches in George Bedocs (men's soccer) and Ron Waite (men's tennis). He earned his bachelor's degree in communications and psychology from the College before embarking on a career in sales, marketing and real estate management.
In addition to his full-time work, Bryan also served as a coach and instructor in both sports in the Northeast. He also remained active as a tennis player at the Boston Athletic Club in Massachusetts.
Bryan will begin his duties effective immediately. The men's tennis team opens its 2026 season on March 21 with a road match at Brooklyn College.
