Softball Announces 2023 Schedule

New Haven, Conn. – With the spring season on the horizon, interim head coach Carli Matrisian has released the softball schedule for the 2023 spring season. 

The Falcons will play 40 games, with 16 occurring on their home turf, the Shea Softball Complex, and the remaining 24 taking place on the road. The Falcons will also play a full 18-game Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schedule. 

The Falcons open the 2023 slate in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and will play a series of 10 non-conference games over a five-day span as part of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

Upon returning from its southern excursion, Albertus will challenge the Bears of Coast Guard Academy in a road non-conference doubleheader on March 23rd. The blue-and-white will follow that up with three straight non-conference doubleheaders on their home turf to close out the month of March. Albertus will challenge MCLA on March 25th, Curry College the following day on March 26th, and Manhattanville College on March 29th.

Albertus kicks off the month of April with a road conference doubleheader against the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University before returning home the next day for a two-game showdown against the Bulldogs of Dean College on April 2nd.

The Falcons will then travel to Chicopee, Mass., to take on the Blazers of Elms College on Wednesday, April 5th. Three days later, on April 8th, Albertus welcomes the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (CT) for a doubleheader conference brawl at the Shea Softball Complex. 

Albertus then heads back up to Massachusetts for a twin bill with Eastern Nazarene on April 10th before traveling to Northfield, VT. for a conference doubleheader with Norwich University on April 15th. The blue-and-white will return home the next day for a conference doubleheader match-up with the Lasers of Lasell University to kick off a six-game home stretch. 

The following Thursday, April 20th, AMC will welcome the Mariners of Mitchell College for a non-conference doubleheader match-up. The Falcons will conclude the home portion of their 2023 season with a doubleheader match-up against conference-foe Emmanuel (Mass.) College on Saturday, April 22nd.

The Falcons will then wrap up the regular season on the road, first challenging the Pride of Regis (Mass.) College in a doubleheader on Sunday, April 23rd, before taking on the Raiders of Rivier University on Saturday, April 29th, for the regular-season finale.
