HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Falcons put runners on first and second in the top of the first before a double play ended the inning.
  • In the bottom of the first, three consecutive walks loaded the bases for the Blue Jays before Alyssa Roberts singled down the line to drive in two runs. Lorynes Suriel added another RBI single to put USJ ahead, 3-0 after the first inning.
  • After Carangelo led off the top of the second inning with a double, Boulli drove her in with her first hit of the day, putting the Falcons on the board and cutting their deficit to 3-1.
  • Both teams went in order in the third inning, but Albertus was able to tie the game once again thanks to Boulli. Schwippert and Carangelo each singled to open the inning. A sacrifice bunt moved them both into scoring position and Boulli singled into left field to score both runs, tying the game, 3-3.
  • The bottom of the fourth saw the Blue Jays regain their three-run lead. Suriel hit an RBI double followed by a fielder's choice that scored a run by Allison Conger. Jennifer Antonowicz added an RBI single.
  • Albertus had two hits the rest of the way.
  • Jabs came in relief for Arent and struck out three batters without allowing a baserunner in 2.1 innings.
