Women's Golf Places Sixth At NWGC Championship

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship at the par 72 Van Patten Golf Course in a 36-hole event.

The Falcons finished with a 238-over par 814. SUNY Cortland ton the title with a 102-over par 678, followed by St. John Fisher at 129-over par and SUNY Geneseo at 154-over par.

After only nine holes were played on Sunday due to rain, the remaining 27 holes were played on Monday. 

Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) was the top finisher for the Falcons, finishing seventh overall after a two-round score of 33-over par 177. She had seven pars in the first round, while carding a birdie and five pars in round two for an 87.

Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) was tied for 13th at 37-over par, shooting a 90 in round one, followed by a 91 in round two. She had seven pars in round one and a birdie on the 18th hole in round two.

Kayla Clark (Avon, Conn.) finished 66-over par in the two rounds, including a 97 in round one with three pars.

Amanda Lepore finished at +102 and Lila Whitney (Canton, Conn.) finished at +117.

Gina Milazzo of SUNY Corgland was the individual medalist after a two round score of +16. She finished three strokes ahead of Emma Sweazy of St. John Fisher and Bethany Wineburg of Nazareth.

Up next, the Falcons will take part in the University of Hartford Wampanoag Invitational on Monday, April 27th at Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford, Conn.
