NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's golf team was named to the All-Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Second Team while Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) was named the conference's Elite Academic Award Winner.
For Dellacroce and Martin, it was the first time in program history a player was named to an all-conference team and the first time an athlete took home a conference award.
Dellacroce finished seventh in the NWGC Championships that were completed on Monday after shooting a two-round score of 177 (90-87). The top five finishers - including ties - were named to the All-NWGC First Team, while spots 6-10 were named to the second team.
Martin - a psychology in child development major - earned the NWGC Elite Academic Award for being the golfer with the highest cumulative grade point average who is at least a sophomore.
