NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team looks to build off a successful 2024 season with a 20-game slate in 2025.
Last season, the Falcons - under head coach Nick Wajnowski - finished their season with an 10-5-4 record overall and 8-4-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). They went into the GNAC Tournament as the sixth seed where they lost to No. 3 Rivier 2-0 in the quarterfinals to end their season.
Albertus opens up the 2025 campaign on the road as they travel to take on Nichols on Friday, August 29. Last year, this matchup ended in a 2-2 draw to open the season for both squads.
The Falcons then head to Wentworth on Sunday, August 31 for a noon tilt with the Leopards.
Albertus then hosts three non-conference games with their home opener against Mount Holyoke on Wednesday, September 3, followed by the City College of New York on September 6 and Purchase on September 8.
A trip to Mitchell on Wednesday, September 10 will begin the GNAC schedule for Albertus. Last season, the Falcons defeated the Mariners 3-0, securing GNAC victory No. 100 for head coach Nick Wajnowski and associate head coach John Adams.
Norwich comes down to New Haven for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, September 13. The Falcons surrendered a 2-1 loss at Norwich last season.
The Falcons then head to Anna Maria on Wednesday, September 17 before they play host to Simmons on Saturday, September 20 and Emmanuel on Wednesday, September 24.
In the middle of two two-game home stands, Albertus plays at Regis on Saturday, September 27. Last season's match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Brooklyn College Bulldogs come to town on Tuesday, September 30 for 7 p.m. matchup under the lights.
Colby-Sawyer will conclude the home stand with a visit to New Haven to play Albertus during Homecoming Weekend on October 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Albertus then travels to in-state rival, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), on Wednesday, October 8. This matchup resulted in a 2-1 senior night win for the Falcons just a season ago.
The spoilers of last season, the Rivier Raiders, travel down for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, October 11.
The Falcons then head to Newton, Mass. for a date with Lasell on Tuesday, October 14 - followed by a trip to play Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday, October 18.
Elms makes their way down I-91 for a matchup with Falcons on Wednesday, October 22. Last season, the Falcons won this matchup 3-1 in the middle of an eight-game unbeaten streak.
Albertus completes their road schedule with a trip to NEC on Friday, October 24. The Falcons have an all-time record of 2-1-1 against the Pilgrims.
The Falcons wrap up their regular season schedule with 7 p.m. start against Dean on Tuesday, October 28.
