Four Members Of Women's Soccer Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Four members of the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) was named to the team, along with forward Sydney Cook (Oakdale, Conn.), defender Natalya Pennant (Windsor, Conn.) and midfielder Taya Bagley (Foster, R.I.).

Stevens, a mathematics major sporting a 3.99 GPA, was named to the CSC All-District Team for the third time in her career. Earlier this year, she was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Year and the All-GNAC First Team. She finished her career with the all-time program record in shutouts (19), saves (329) and wins (37).

Pennant, a communication and marketing major, was named to the CSC All-District Team for the first time in her first season at Albertus. It is the second honor for Pennant this season as she was also named to the All-GNAC First Team. She finished the season with two goals and six assists on the season.

Both Stevens and Pennant were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot which will be announced on December 16th.

Bagley, a sophomore business management major, was also named to the CSC All-District team for the first time. She appeared in all 20 games this season, with a career-high in both goals with six and assists with two.

Cook also makes her first appearance on the CSC All-District Team. The accounting major appeared in all 20 games with two goals - including one game-winner - and an assist.
