WORCESTER, Mass. - Mia Cortes of the Albertus Magnus College women's swimming team earned 37 points for the Falcons in the first day of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Friday at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Cortes won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:53.58, earning 20 points for the Falcons. She also finished in second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.06, earning 17 points.
Alyssa Defeo earned eight points for the Falcon, earning six points in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:39.07. She also had two points in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:29.85.
Alexander Wynn earned four points on the men's side, earning one point in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.44. He also earned three pointsin the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:00.88.
The women's side is currently in seventh after the first day with 45 points, while the men's team sits in fifth place with four points.
