NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team announced its 32-game schedule for the 2024 season.
Head coach Ashley David enters her fourth season as head coach, coming off of a 9-21 campaign in 2023.
The season begins on Saturday, August 31 with a non-conference tri-match inside The Nest against Curry and Salem State followed by their first road match at Yeshiva on September 3.
SUNY Purchase visits Albertus on September 5 for an evening match. Last season, the Falcons won both matches against Purchase, each in three sets.
The first road tri-match of the season will be on September 7 as the Falcons head to Saint Joseph's (Long Island) to take on John Jay and the host Golden Eagles.
Albertus will play just two matches over the next 14 days, first at home against the University of Hartford and at Maritime on September 19 before opening Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
The Falcons begin their GNAC schedule with a tri-match against defending GNAC Champion, Lasell followed later in the day against host Rivier on September 21.
After a non-conference game against Vermont State Lyndon, the Falcons get back into GNAC play with a tri-match at Norwich against Simmons and the host Cadets on September 28 to wrap up the month.
Albertus hosts Dean on October 1. The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs, 3-1 last season. From there, the team will host Elms and Old Westbury on October 5 as part of a tri-match on homecoming weekend. The Falcons opened up their 2023 season with a 3-2 win over Old Westbury after trailing 2-1.
The Falcons travel to MCLA for the team's first meeting since 2022 on October 8 before returning home to host New England College and Saint Joseph's (Me.) in GNAC contests.
Albertus plays four straight non-conference games beginning on October 17, hosting Centenary followed by a tri-match against York (N.Y.) and Saint Joseph's (Brooklyn) on October 19. Albertus swept York last season in dominating fashion, 25-9, 25-14 and 25-11. Albertus closes out the four-game stretch at Saint Elizabeth on October 22.
The Falcons host their final tri-match on October 25 against Anna Maria and Emmanuel. Albertus took care of Anna Maria, 3-1 on the road last season.
The Falcons head to Fitchburg state to wrap up October on the 29th and begin November with a GNAC tri-match at Regis, taking on Colby-Sawyer before taking on the Pride.
The Falcons close out the regular season with four games in five days starting with a road game at the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Nov. 5 followed by their final non-conference game against Lehman, who Albertus swept last season on Nov. 7. The Falcons wrap up their season on Nov. 9 at Mitchell, taking on the host Mariners followed by a match against Johnson and Wales.
