- It was all Albertus in the first set as the Falcons led by as much as 24-2 after going on a blistering opening run that saw five aces from Alyssa Valentine (Bristol, Conn.) and four from Isabella Leatherman (Las Vegas, NV). The Falcons were never threatened and easily took a 1-0 lead in the match.
- In a much more competitive second set, the two teams were tied 13-13 before the Falcons went on an 8-3 run to take a 21-16 lead behind two kills from Negron and one by both Valentine and Matheus and an ace and kill from Savanna Smith (New Haven, Conn.). The Hornets got to within three points, but kills from Smith and Sophie Cseszko (Grapevine, TX) sealed the set two win.
- The Falcons found themselves down 13-6 in the third set as the Hornets took advantage of six Albertus errors early on. The Hornets didn't relent over the next 16 points and held a 20-15 lead later in the set. However, the Falcons scored the next nine points that included three kills each from Negron and Matheus to take a 24-20 lead. A few points later, Negron would close out the set with a kill to give the Falcons the win.
