BOSTON, Mass. - Ta'zhon Daniels (New Haven, Conn.) scored 30 points and the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team pulled away in the second half against Emmanuel College in a 76-57 win on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Daniels shot 14-for-16 from the free-throw line and also grabbed five rebounds on the evening.
Ray Ford, Jr. (Jersey City, N.J.) scored 23 points with eight rebounds and Jayquan Kirkland (Stratford, Conn.) scored 14 points with seven rebounds. Avery Hinnant (Naugatuck, Conn.) grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds with six points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Albertus took a 9-5 lead just over three minutes into the game as Ford, Jr. scored five straight points for the Falcons with a pull up jumper, followed by a three.
- The Saints ripped off a 15-2 run on their own, shooting, as they went 5-for-8 from the field during the stretch, which included threes from Ryan Rangel and Danny Adams. The Saints held a 20-11 lead with 11:08 remaining in the first half.
- Daniels put the team on his back to bring the Falcons back as he scored 12 points during an 18-4 run to put the Falcons ahead 29-24 with 4:27 left. During the run, Daniels scored six straight points that included a putback off of his own miss and then a fastbreak layup after a steal from Ford, Jr. made it a 27-24 game.
- With the Falcons up, by one point on their final possession in the first half, Daniels buried a midrange jumper at the buzzer to give Albertus a 38-35 lead at halftime.
- Albertus blitzed Emmanuel with an 18-2 run over the first 7:14 of the second half to take a commanding 56-37 lead. The run started with a three-point play after a transition fastbreak layup from Ford, Jr., who was fouled. A couple possessions later, a block from Isaiah Earl (Hamden, Conn.) led to a basket by Hinnant, causing Emmanuel to call a timeout. Kirkland and Daniels then combined to score the next 11 points for Albertus and Hinnant capped the run with a dunk.
- The Saints did not get any closer than 13 points the rest of the way as the Albertus defense held them to 6-for-33 (18.2%) shooting in the second half. Ford, Jr. scored 12 points in the second half, wile Kirkland scored 10.
