NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ta'zhon Daniels (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the third time this season. Isaiah Earl (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.
In a 2-0 week for the Falcons, Daniels averaged 32.5 points. In an 87-74 win over Mitchell on February 11, Daniels put up 24 points, four assists, and four steals. The senior guard followed that up with an amazing 41-point performance in an overtime win over Lasell on February 14, including the game-tying free throw to send the game to overtime. It was the second time Daniels has put up 40 or more points in a game this season. He is currently second in scoring in the GNAC at 21.6 points per game.
Earl averaged 17 points and 13.5 rebounds with 3.5 blocks a game during the week. The near forward had 16 points, 19 rebounds, and four blocks in the win over Mitchell before collecting 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in the Falcons' 98-91 OT win over Lasell. He currently leads the GNAC in blocks with 37.
