New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Soccer Team went 2-0 last week securing a 4-1, 1-0 GNAC record and it's best start since 2003.  The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has taken notice naming sophomore midfielder Steve Zapata (Hamden, CT) and freshman goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT) player of the week and goalkeeper of the week respectively. 

Zapata had three assists this week for the Falcons.  He assisted on the game winner against Nichols College and both goals in a 2-1 win over Norwich. Zapata also added a goal against Wheelock earlier in the week. 

Piroscafo recorded 2 shutouts including a 1-0 victory over Nichols College that saw Albertus playing with 10 men for 51 minutes and Wheelock College. He made two incredible saves against Norwich to preserve the 2-1 win.  The Falcons have won four straight games as they travel to Elms College on Thursday for a 4:00 pm kick-off.
