Albertus Magnus men's soccer players Jamal Howard (West Haven, Conn.) and Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) have been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll as announced earlier this week by the league office.

Howard and Piroscafo both have now earned a spot on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll twice in 2011. In major GNAC honors, Howard was Player of the Week on Sept. 20 and Oct. 18. Piroscafo has been tagged as the Goalkeeper of the Week three times, on Sept. 20, Oct. 10 and Oct. 18.

Howard recorded his second hat trick of the season last week as he scored three goals in the Falcons' 6-0 win over Lasell on Saturday afternoon. During that contest, Howard took sole possession as the Albertus Magnus all-time points' leader in men's soccer history. With 19 goals on the year, he surpassed former Falcon Vic Crespo's single-season goals scored record of 18. On the year, Howard leads the conference with 19 goals and 42 points.

Piroscafo recorded back-to-back shutouts on the week to improve his tally on the year to seven as the Falcons' finished the 2011 regular season a perfect 10-0 in GNAC play. Piroscafo made four saves in the Falcons' 6-0 win over Lasell and four in their double-overtime shutout of Nichols College.

Albertus Magnus will host Mount Ida on Sunday, Oct. 30 in the quarterfinals of the 2011 GNAC Men's Soccer Tournament. That contest is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
