Falcons to Face Swarthmore in NCAA Tournament First Round

In its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team will face Swarthmore College on Saturday, Nov. 10 in First Round action. A start time has yet to be determined.

The Garnet will host the Falcons at their own Clothier Field Stadium, while Rensselaer and Christopher Newport will also face off in Swarthmore, Pa. on Saturday.

The Falcons enter the NCAA Tournament after winning their second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament title in program history and their first since 1996. After their scoreless draw on Saturday in the GNAC Championship game, the Falcons are 15-3-3 on the year.

Swarthmore College is 14-2-2 on the year after falling to Haverford 1-0 in the Centennial Conference Championship game on Sunday. The Garnet's loss to Haverford was the first for Swarthmore since its 2-1 overtime loss to Stevens on Sept. 19. Swarthmore was also unbeaten in regular-season league play at 8-0-1.

The winner of the Albertus Magnus/Swarthmore match will face the winner of the Rensselaer/Christopher Newport contest on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m.
