Three members of the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team have earned 2012 NCAA All-New England men's soccer honors, as announced Wednesday by the NSCAA.
Senior Stephen Zapata (Hamden, Conn.), who was named a 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Second Team All-American earlier this week, was tagged as a First Team member in the All-New England South Division.
Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) also earned a spot on the First Team with Zapata after the junior earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference First Team accolades.
Senior defender Nick Hamasian (Hamden, Conn.) also earned All-New England honors as he was named to the Second Team. Hamasian was named to the GNAC First Team last month as well, while he also was tagged as the GNAC Defender of the Year.
The Falcons won their second GNAC Championship title on Nov. 3 with a 6-5 shootout victory over Norwich University. With the win, Albertus earned its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in program history.
