Men's Soccer Tagged as 4th Seed in GNAC Tourney

The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team will be the fourth seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament.  The Falcons are slated to host fifth seeded Mount Ida on Saturday, Nov. 1 on Celentano Field.  This year marks the Falcons' 16th-straight appearance in the GNAC Tournament and the 17th overall.

The Falcons finished the regular season with an 11-5-2 overall record and will Mount Ida for the second time this season.  Back on Oct. 13, the Falcons edged the Mustangs 1-0 in GNAC regular-season play.  Albertus is 7-3-2 all-time against Mount Ida and have not lost to the Mustangs since 2009.

The Falcons last faced the Mustangs in GNAC Tournament play on Oct. 31, 2011 when Albertus picked up a 2-0 victory.

The Falcons are 13-14-4 all-time in GNAC Tournament play dating back to the 1996 season.  In 1996, the Falcons won their first-ever GNAC Tournament title and in 2012, they won their second GNAC crown and made their first-ever NCAA Tournament Appearance.

The Falcons have not lost a GNAC Tournament quarterfinal game since 2009 when they were the fifth seed playing at Norwich University. Last season, the Falcons upset second-seeded Saint Joseph's College of Maine on the road.
