HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The game was scoreless until the 9:39 mark of the game when a foul in the box on Hartford gave Coelho a penalty kick which he put in the back of the net to give Albertus the early lead. Albertus took that lead into the half as Albertus goalkeeper David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) stopped all three shots he faced in the opening 45 minutes. Albertus had a free kick opportunity just outside the box in the 14th minute, but the shot was stopped by the defensive wall set by Hartford.
  • In the second half, the Hawks got on the board just 88 seconds in as Alex Quinones headed in a cross from Kellijah Morgan to knot the game up at 1-1.
  • Just five minutes later Morgan scored the go-ahead goal for the Hawks receiving a pass from Ron Palilo that was deflected by an Albertus defender and took a wide open shot at the net to give Hartford the lead.
  • The Falcons put the offensive pressure on in the final minutes as they had the ball inside the box multiple times but were unable to get another goal.
