HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus jumped on the board in the 16th minute as Oliveira received a long pass from Brady Carrera (North Haven, Conn.), who was shoulder to shoulder with the final defender. After the first touch from Oliveira, the ball deflected off Old Westbury goaltender, Paul DeGennaro back to Oliveira who rolled it into a wide open net, just beating a defender who tried to stop the ball from going over the goal line.
  • In the 37th minute, the Falcons gathered the ball at midfield and Aiden Coelho (Naugatuck, Conn.) raced down the right side at full speed. As he entered the 18-yard box, he found a cutting Mendez-Suarez who fired the ball into the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game.
  • Albertus did not allow a shot on goal in the second half.
