AMHERST, Mass. - Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) led three players in double figures, but the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team lost a 75-65 non-conference game to Amherst College on Tuesday evening.
Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) had 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds and Diamond White (Hamden, Conn.) scord 14 points with a team-high four steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Murray-Leach started the scoring for Albertus, followed by a jumper from White to put Albertus up, 5-2 early on. The teams would tie three more times in the first quarter, but a three from Scott and a layup and free throw by Murray-Leach put the Falcona up 15-9 with 4:19 remaining. Amherst got back to within three points at 16-13, but the Falcons went on a 9-1 run with threes from White, Murray-Leach and Amanda Zdru (Stratford, Conn.) to go ahead 22-14. Amherst scored the final five points of the first quarter as Albertus led 22-19 after the first ten minutes. Murray-Leach had eight points in the first quarter to go with three rebounds. White scored seven.
- Amherst scored the first 12 points of the second quarter to take a 31-22 lead with just over six minutes remaining. Annie McCarthy led the charge with five points during the run. Amherst extended its lead to 16 points with a 41-25 lead with 1:18 left, but the Falcons were able to reduce their deficit to 43-31 by halftime as Scott, Hannah Barrientos (East Hampton, Conn.) and Ava Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) each had buckets down the stretch.
- The third quarter started off with Amherst still in control and taking a 17 point lead on two different occasions. However, a three from White with 4:46 remaining sparked a 17-2 run down the stretch of the third period. Albertus allowed just one field goal the rest of the period as two threes from White and one by Murray-Leach and Zdru helped bring the Falcons back into the game. Amherst led just 57-55 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Amherst scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter, led by Maya Cwalina who had four points during the run. The Falcons got back to within eight points, but were unable to get any closer the rest of the way.
