SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) led the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team with 32 points, but the Falcons lost an 84-61 non-conference game to Springfield College on Saturday afternoon.

Diamond White (Hamden, Conn.) scored 14 points. Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) had six points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Scott surpassed 1,700 points in her career, becoming the third player in program history to do so. She has 1,710 points in her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Albertus fell behind 9-0 before White hit a three to open up the scoring for Albertus. A few possessions later, Scott hit two straight threes, cutting the Albertus deficit to 13-9 with 3:52 left in the first quarter. Kassidy Carrano scored four straight points for the Pride putting it up for 17-9. A layup from Murray-Leach made it a 17-12 game, however Springfield would take a 21-12 lead after the first ten minutes.
• A layup from Scott to kick off the second quarter made it a 21-14 game. Springfield answered with a 13-2 run to take a 34-16 lead at 4:31 in the second behind five points from Claire Finney. The Pride held onto its lead, taking a 43-26 advantage into halftime. Scott hit a three at the buzzer for the Falcons as she scored five points in the second quarter.
• Springfield maintained its double-digit lead in the third, leading by as much as 24 points. Albertus did trim the game back down to 17 points after back-to-back layups from Scott and a free throw by White with 1:49 left. The Pride took a 68-50 lead into the fourth. Scott scored 14 of the team's 24 points in the quarter.
• White scored the first five points of the fourth quarter for Albertus and Scott made a layup as the Falcons chipped away to make it a 73-57 game with 6:05 left. However, that would be the closest the Falcons would get the rest of the way.
