MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team lost a 60-51 game to Emerson College in the Courtyard by Marriott Classic on Saturday evening at Wesleyan University.
Both Adriana DeBernardo (Stratford, Conn.) and Ava Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) each had a double-double. DeBernardo finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- An early three from Dejahlee Dogans (Bloomfield, Conn.) gave Albertus a 3-2 lead a minute into the first quarter. Emerson scored the next nine points to take an 11-3 before DeBernardo hit a three to make it an 11-6 game. Emerson scored the next seven points and took an 18-6 lead into the second quarter.
- The Falcons went on an 8-2 run to start the second quarter as DeBernardo led the charge with four points as the Falcons made it a 20-14 game with seven minutes left. However, the Lions held the Falcons to three points the rest of the way and took a 26-17 into the half.
- Albertus used the first 5:29 of the second half to trim its deficit to 29-28 behind four points each from Johnson and Isabella Fiorillo (West Haven, Conn.). The Lions finished on an 11-2 run, which included six points from Jessie Silk as they took a 40-30 lead into the fourth.
- The Lions led by as much as 14 points in the fourth as the Falcons didn't get any closer than seven points the rest of the way. DeBernardo had seven points in the quarter while Johnson had six.
