AMHERST, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team lost a 72-31 game to No. 15 Amherst College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
Ava Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) led the scoring for the Falcons with seven points to go with six rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With 1:24 in the game, the Mammoths got the scoring started courtesy of a made jump shot by Chase Anderson. The Mammoths, however, continued to score, courtesy of six points from Anderson as they took a 17-8 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons went 6-for-8 from the free-throw line in the quarter as Adriana DeBernardo (Stratford, Conn.) led Albertus with five points in the opening ten minutes.
- Ariellys Velez (Watertown, Conn.), Johnson and Keira Reynolds (Guilford, Conn.) each scored baskets in the second quarter, but the Mammoths took a 28-14 into halftime as five different players scored for them.
- Amherst started the second half on a 9-0 run, eventually taking a 54-19 lead into the fourth.
- Six different players scored for the Falcons in the fourth, including a three from Gabriella Gaetano (East Haven, Conn.). The Mammoths, however, shot 72.7% from the field in the fourth to take home the win.
