BOSTON, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup on Wednesday evening against the Saints of Emmanuel College on the road, 81-50.
Ava Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) led the Falcons with 12 points to go with six rebounds.
Adriana DeBernardo (Stratford, Conn.) scored 10 points with eight rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints got on the board first, 40 seconds in, after a made three from Lia Krumian. Johnson later responded with a layup. Krumian found the basket from behind the arc once again to give the Saints the 6-2 early lead. With the Saints leading 9-2 Dejahlee Dogans (Bloomfield, Conn.) inched the Falcons closer with a jumper and a free throw. However, the Saints closed the quarter with a 21-5 run to close out the quarter put Emmanuel up 30-10 as Nylah Mitchell and Shea Canavan each scored five points during the closing run over the final 7:18.
- The Saints opened the scoring in the second quarter after Kalia Saunders drew the foul on a layup for a three-point play. The Falcons responded courtesy of a floating jumpshot from Johnson. Isabella Fiorillo (West Haven, Conn.) followed that up with a three to cut the Albertus deficit to 33-15 with 5:47 left in the first half. Krumian hit two more threes for the Saints down the stretch of the first half to give the Saints a 47-23 lead at halftime. Ariellys Velez led the Falcons with five points in the quarter.
- Johnson and DeBernardo each scored four points apiece in the third quarter, but the Saints still held a 66-36 lead heading to the fourth.
- The Saints held off any potential run in the fourth quarter from the Falcons. DeBernardo scored four points in the final frame to pace Albertus.
