Coach Jewett was hired on February 28, 2011 to start the Women's Lacrosse program at Albertus Magnus College.
Jewett, a resident of nearby Guilford, Connecticut, comes to
Albertus after distinguishing himself as an outstanding lacrosse
figure in Connecticut during the last 20 years. Jewett previously
served as Head Lacrosse Coach at Mitchell College during the 2009
and 2010 seasons, after an outstanding 17-year career as the
Head Lacrosse Coach at Hamden Hall High School.
"We are thrilled to welcome Steve Jewett to Albertus Magnus College
to begin our women's lacrosse program," Spinner said. "During the
interview process, it was clear that Steve not only has the
background and passion for lacrosse to be very successful here, but
he also has earned the reputation as a true professional who
understands the importance of balancing academics and athletics. As
a full-time educator, Steve will provide a great role model for our
student-athletes, and I am very excited to see him build an
outstanding women's lacrosse program at Albertus Magnus
College."
He is currently a Lower School Science teacher at Hamden Hall
and is a regular on the summer lacrosse camp scene.
