Jamal Howard (West Haven, Conn.) and Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men's soccer team have been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their contributions during last week's competition.
On Sept. 26, Howard and Piroscafo were among the group of six men's soccer players to be named to the weekly honor roll.
During last week's play, Howard tallied two goals as the Falcons defeated Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 2-0 on Saturday, Sept. 24 for their fifth-straight victory. The senior now leads the Falcons with seven goals and 16 points on the year.
Piroscafo recorded two shutouts on the week as he led the Falcons to a 2-0 win over non-conference opponent Mitchell College on Sept. 21 then a 2-0 victory over JWU on the 24th. The sophomore tallied one save versus the Wildcats on Saturday and three against Mitchell as he only faced a combined four shots on net. Currently in 2011, he has registered 41 saves in nine games played.
