Albertus Magnus junior Stephen Zapata was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll as announced earlier this week by the league office.
Zapata, a Hamden, Conn. native, registered one goal and four assists in Albertus' 2-0 showing last week. In the Falcons' 4-0 win over Rivier, Zapata dished out two assists, one of which was on the game-winning goal scored by Lindsley Barrett. In the Falcons' 5-1 dominating win at Norwich University, the junior scored the game-tying goal in the 21st minute then assisted on the eventual game winner six minutes later.
Zapata added an assist on the final goal scored against the Cadets, securing Albertus' GNAC victory.
After scoring his second goal of the season in Wednesday's 2-0 win at Mount Ida, Zapata now has 15 points on the year with two goals and a team-leading 11 assists.
The Falcons, who have won eight-straight contests, will head into the week with an unblemished 6-0 record in GNAC play. Albertus will host Emerson at Celentano Field on Saturday, Oct. 8 as the match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
