Sophomore Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus softball team has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Weekly Honor Roll after an impressive opening week for the program.

Manning led the Falcons both on the rubber and at the plate as she threw four innings in their 4-3 win over Norwich to open up the 2012 season. The sophomore also went 2-for-4 with a season-best five RBI in the Falcons' loss to Gettysburg on March 15.

Manning and the Falcons will open conference play on Friday as the Falcons host Simmons College in a GNAC double-header beginning at 5:00 p.m. All home softball games are played at West Haven High School in West Haven, Conn.
