Albertus Magnus women's basketball sophomore Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Carrero registered double figures for the second-straight contest as she recorded a season-high 22 points at New England College on Nov. 22. Despite falling in the close ballgame, Carrero had a solid outing, hitting 10-of-14 from the floor.

The Pilgrims secured the non-conference victory by hitting 11 of its 12 attempts from the free throw line in the final three minutes of play.

The Falcons' sophomore also played a season-high 39 minutes as Albertus moved to 4-1 on the year.

Carrero and the Falcons will take on Newbury College on Tuesday evening in a 5:00 p.m. non-conference contest in Brookline, Mass.
