The 2012-13 Albertus Magnus College women's basketball schedule will feature 25 games, all of which have the potential to be memorable, but one contest will prove to be a game the Falcons' team members and coaches will never forget. On January 5, 2013, Albertus Magnus will face 2012 NCAA Tournament participant St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn at 3:00 p.m. The game will be played at the brand-new Barclays Center, home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets, as part of a doubleheader with the Nets.

St. Joseph's will host the Falcons for a 3:00 p.m. contest and will serve as the early game of a day/night twinbill that will feature the Nets' first home game of the 2013 New Year when they host the Sacramento Kings for a 7:30 p.m. match-up.

Fans will be able to purchase one ticket that will allow access to both games on the day. Tickets will be available at a discounted rate, and prices and ordering information will be announced shortly.

"One of our biggest goals for the Athletic Department at Albertus Magnus College is to provide our student-athletes with an unforgettable experience in every way possible." said Director of Athletics Michael Spinner. "This game is going to be really special for our women's basketball team. Not only will we face an NCAA Tournament team from 2012, but we will face them in the newest, most beautiful, state-of-the-art NBA arena in the country. This is going to be an experience our student-athletes will never forget, just for taking the floor."

"After one of the best seasons we have seen in many years, the sense of excitement around our women's basketball program is growing tremendously," added Spinner. "We have a terrific group returning this season and a fantastic new head coach in J.R. Fredette. Playing a doubleheader with an NBA team in a venue like the Barclays Center is a huge event that demonstrates our commitment to having a women's basketball program of the highest level."

Scheduled to open on September 28, 2012, the Barclays Center is located in the heart of Brooklyn, N.Y. and is capable of seating 18,000 for its basketball games. The Nets' first home game at the Barclays Center is scheduled for October 15 against the Washington Wizards.
