Playoff Night Tuesday in "The Nest"

Come Support your Albertus Magnus College Basketball Teams as they both host their First Round Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoff games on Tuesday night!  Let's fill the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center "The Nest" in support of our Basketball Teams.

The Lady Falcons finished the year in remarkable fashion winning four of their last five conference games securing a third place finish in the regular season.  The third ranked 12-13, 8-4 GNAC Lady Falcons will host the sixth ranked 14-11, 7-5 GNAC Suffolk University Rams at 5:00 pm.  In their only meeting this season, just a few days ago, The Lady Falcons won 82-70 in convincing fashion.  Albertus outrebounded Suffolk 55-33 and had four starters in double figures.  The Women's Basketball GNAC playoff bracket can be found here. 

The Falcons finished the year as Regular Season Great Northeast Athletic Conference Champions.  Albertus had a ten game winning streak during the season and has won two of the last three games.  The number one seeded 19-6, 15-3 GNAC Falcons will host the eighth seeded 9-16, 6-12 GNAC Rivier College Raiders at 7:00 pm.  The teams have had two meetings during the regular season splitting the two games 1-1.  On January 16, Albertus was led by sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) and junior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT) to over take Rivier 87-80 in Nashua, NH.  On February 13, Rivier got some revenge in "The Nest" as Albertus missed a game winning shot that rattled in and out of the rim as the buzzer sounded for a final score of 79-78.  The Men's Basketball GNAC playoff bracket can be found here.
