New Haven, CT - On Thursday night, The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball soared to an 86-74 win over visiting Wesleyan University. There were many lead changes early in the first half with a tied score eight times. The Falcons went on an 8-0 run with 6:05 remaining in the first half giving them a 32-24 lead with a few minutes remaining. The Falcons added to their lead with another run for a nine point cushion of41-30 at the half. The leading scorers for each team saw limited minutes in the first half as they both were in foul trouble early. Albertus continued to play well in the second half leading by as much as 15 points at one point and keeping nearly a double digit lead the entire second half. The Falcons were led by the strong play of junior guard Walden St. Juste's (Hartford, CT) game high 27 points and freshman forward David Armstrong's (Bridgeport, CT) 12 points, game high 13 rebounds, and four blocks. Wesleyan was lead by freshman guard Shasha Brown and his 17 points on just 5-of-16 shooting. Albertus improves to 4-1, 0-0 GNAC on the season while Wesleyan drops to 2-2, 0-0 NESCAC. The Falcons open their GNAC schedule hosting Lasell College on Saturday at 3:00pm.
