Sophomore Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) and freshman Troy Owens (Bridgeport, Conn.) were tagged with major weekly honors by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Tuesday, as Watson was named GNAC Player of the Week and Owens was selected as the GNAC Rookie of the Week.

Watson scored 77 points in the Falcons' 2-1 week, while shooting 57.5-percent from the floor, including a 16-of-30 clip from behind the arc. He led all scorers in the Falcons' win over Rivier on Saturday, Dec. 10 as he finished the day shooting 13-of-20 from the floor. He added five assists in the contest, while his 35-point effort was a career-high. The contest also marked his eighth-consecutive game with double-figures and his fifth game of the season with 20 or more points.

In the match-up against Rivier, he hit nine 3-pointers, including five in a row in a span of three minutes in the second half of play.

Owens had one of the best outings on the week by a freshman as he recorded seven points in nine minutes of work. He gave the Falcons an extra burst of energy off the bench and was a defensive force for the Falcons in their game against Rivier. Owens hit his lone shot attempt against the Raiders, which was a three-pointer, while it was one of the Falcons' 32-made three pointers on the week. He added three assists and one rebound in two victories for Albertus.
