For the second-straight week, Albertus Magnus freshman Spencer Smith has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. In addition to that honor, Albertus senior Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn.) has been selected to the league's weekly honor roll.

Smith shot 52.9-percent from the floor for 22 points in the Falcons 3-0 week. He also registered 23 rebounds. The rookie recorded his first career double-double on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Rivier as he tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons in the victory.

Askew became the GNAC's all-time leader in rebounds on Jan. 10 in the Falcons' win at Rivier. He also became just the second player in the history of the league to record over 1,000 rebounds. He is just three rebounds away from tying the Albertus Magnus all-time record as well (1,036), which is held by Jason Crockett '98.

Askew led the Falcons in a perfect 3-0 week as they remain unbeaten in GNAC play at 8-0. He shot 55.2-percent for 48 points, while adding 21 rebounds and four blocked shots. Albertus is 13-1 on the year.
