The nationally-ranked Albertus Magnus men's basketball team will be the top seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament, which begins Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Falcons will host eighth-seeded Emerson as they make their fourth-straight tournament appearance. Game time for Tuesday has been scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Albertus enters the postseason with a 24-1 overall record after finishing the regular season on a 19-game win streak. The Falcons finished the regular season with a perfect 18-0 record in conference play, the first-ever men's basketball team to do so in league history.

The Falcons, who are ranked 20th in the nation and 10th in the Division III Northeast, will be the top seed of the GNAC Tournament for the third time in program history. During those previous two years, Albertus went on to win the GNAC title and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Albertus is coming off of a 75-62 win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday as the Monks will be the league's second seed.

The Falcons finished the regular season with a margin of victory of 18.3 points, while they have shot 48.5-percent from the floor on the year. Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn.) leads the way for the Falcons as he is averaging 24.8 points along with 9.7 rebounds per game.

Albertus is 11-9 all-time in GNAC Tournament play and will take on Emerson for the sixth time in GNAC Tournament history. In their last postseason meeting, the Falcons faced Emerson in the 2010 league tournament final as Albertus won that contest and the conference championship by a score of 85-69.
