NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ta'zhon Daniels (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week after a career day on the hardwood. Teammate Isaiah Earl (Hamden, Conn.) was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.
The Falcons went 2-0 during the week with a 68-56 win over Sarah Lawrence College on December 9th and followed that up with a 98-84 win over Baruch College on Saturday, extending their winning streak to six games.
In the win over Baruch, Daniels scored a career-high 44 points on 16-for-22 shooting and 5-for-6 from three. to go with six steals, three rebounds and two assists.
Daniels currently leads the GNAC in scoring at 19.9 points per game and is shooting 51.9 percent from three (14-for-27), which puts him third in the conference.
Earl averaged 22 points on 56.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from the three to go with eight rebounds per game. In the win over Sarah Lawrence, Earl notched a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. He went 2-for-3 from deep and hit 11 of his 12 free throws. In the win over Baruch, he scored a season-high 23 points on 9-for-12 shooting with four rebounds.
